Sharing with friends is what our Kemptown Kitchen is all about – a light, open space where diners can grab anything from a quick bite and a cocktail to a full-scale feast for up to 26 people, all in full view of the kitchen and chefs that are preparing it. 
Where our original Brighton Lanes Cafe focuses on traditional South Indian food, Kemptown Kitchen mixes things up with a modern, playful take on casual dining that borrows from all quarters of India's culinary heritage – with a few interesting detours thrown in.
The food arrives at the table tapas-style, as soon as it's ready rather than in a conventional 'starter and main' format, and the menu changes every two months to keep things fresh for regular diners. Like the drinks menu, it also leans heavily on local suppliers for its seasonal ingredients, and vegans, vegetarians and gluten-intolerant diners are well catered for – along with families looking for a spacious, friendly lunch stop on weekends, when the kitchen is open from 1pm till late.



Kemptown Kitchen operates a 'first come, first served' walk-in-only policy during busy times; diners are invited to take a drink at the bar while they wait for a table to become available, or can use our waitlist app and head to the nearest pub while they await a text notification. 


An early-bird booking service is offered from 5pm to 6pm on weekdays, and 1pm to 5:30pm on weekends. Book online HERE. Please note that reservations will only be held for 10 minutes before being re-allocated to other customers. Reservations are also taken for larger groups at our discretion (NB: a security deposit is payable at time of booking).

Kemptown Kitchen operates a full takeaway menu seven days a week, along with a range of ice-cold craft beers to take away – all packaged in compostable, biodegradable containers that won't clog up landfill. 
Order using our click & collect app and automatically receive 10% off your bill (collection from the restaurant only). Alternatively, you can call us on 01273 526911 to place your order (10% discount still applies), although please note that our lines can get busy during peak times.
