Keralan New Year recipes
Good Things magazine helped its readers usher in the Keralan New Year with a fabulous menu of South Indian dishes, including two recipes from our own Chef Kanthi. Erachi Ularthiyathu is a very popular Christmas dish in the Christian community of Kerala, and this 10-minute recipe comes from ‘Mrs Rajan’, the mother of one of chef Kanthi’s closest friends.
For dessert, Good Things recommends giving Kanthi's indulgent jackfruit, jaggery and coconut milk pudding a go. Indian desserts aren't particularly popular in the UK – mainly because of their sweetness –but this one really hits the spot regardless of your tastes or ethnic background.
